John was self-employed as an auto mechanic from 1972 - 2002, being known to many as a "Master Mechanic", who could repair anything on an automobile from the front bumper to the rear bumper.
"Toup-T", as he was affectionately known to his family and friends, always assured his family that they would go on a vacation every year, and they always had a wonderful and eventful time - those memories they will treasure forever. Every weekend he would ride around visiting his family and friends, just so he could be sure that everyone was o.k. John always expressed himself through his sincere generosity, and was always willing to help those in need - saying "What goes around, comes around".
John loved to dance and he most especially took great pride in teaching his children to be respectful to others and how to be clean - he always wiped-down the shoes of his children, when they were growing up, "with his red rag", before they got into his car.
He was married to the love of his life, Marrella, for 44 years, recently celebrating their Wedding Anniversary on Friday, June 19th. John will be sadly missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, family and friends.
Survivors include his loving wife, Marrella Ann Guidry Hebert, of Breaux Bridge; one son, Johnathan N. Hebert, and wife, Dawn, of Cecilia; four daughters, Laura H. LeBlanc and husband, David, of Cecilia, Trudy H. Campbell and husband, Lane, of Baton Rouge, Amy H. Brown and husband, Kerry, of New Rhodes, and Carlene H. He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Laura Angelle Hebert; maternal grandparents, Willie Angelle, Sr. and Elena Benoit Angelle; and paternal grandparents, Author and Evar Guidry Hebert.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 1:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Friday and continue at 7 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.
