St. Martinville - A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, November 6, 2020, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville for John Francis Knatt, 67, who passed away on Friday, October 30, 2020.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Notre Dame Catholic Church from 7:00 am until 10:00 am on Friday.
A rosary will be prayed at 8:30 am on Friday.
Rev. Cyriaque Sounou SVD will officiate at the Memorial Service. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery in St. Martinville.
John Francis was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was hardworking and always provided for his family. John gave the best advice and was always there to listen to anyone. He enjoyed his life to the fullest and was always "the life of the party." His presence was known when he walked into a room. John Francis enjoyed a good party, shooting pool, drinking a few with friends, and riding his motorcycle. He was a member of "The Legends" Motorcycle Club. John Francis' pride and joy was his kids and grandchildren. Any free time he had he made a way to visit his family in Houston. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sandra Knatt; two daughters, Cartessa K. (Ken) Zeno and Miranda A. (Byron Olivier) Knatt; mother, Martha Knatt; three brothers, Paul (Debra) Knatt Sr., Anthony (Bonnie) Knatt and Jason (Mandy) Knatt; nine sisters, Bernadette (James) Knatt, Shirley Knatt, Sandra (Lawrence) Zachary, Beverly (Milton) Anthony, Marla (Harold) Knatt, Carol White, Lisa (Ed Lee) Knatt, Abigail Knatt and Bridgette Knatt; four grandchildren, Madisonn Zeno, Rhyli Roberts, Tanner Zeno and Brylon Roberts; step grandchildren, Kaleb Thomas, Kalen Thomas, Ken Zeno, Jr., Shemar Zeno and Aubree Olivier; and great-great grandchildren, Ken Zeno, III and Brooklyn Thomas.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ervin Knatt; brother, Brian Knatt; and one sister, Mia Knatt;
Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Knatt Sr., Anthony Knatt, Jason Knatt, Ken Zeno Sr., Byron Olivier, and Jarrel Batiste.
