John Allen LeBlanc

March 27, 1938 — July 6, 2009

Cecilia - Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., on Thursday, July 9, 2009, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia, for John Allen "King" LeBlanc, 71, who passed away on Monday, July 6, 2009 at Lafayette General Medical Center. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. Father Flo Calais will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Kane Racca and Crystal Broussard. Gift Bearers will be Amelia and Kane Racca. Mr. LeBlanc worked as a tool pusher in the oil industry for 39 years - he was known to many who worked with him as being a "slave driver". In his spare time he was a jockey who loved riding horses and he also served his community as a member of the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Posse for a number of years. "King" loved spending time with his family and hanging around with his "old buddies". He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his wife, Mary Champagne LeBlanc, of Cecilia; three sons, Shane LeBlanc, of Parks, Clint LeBlanc and his wife, Beth, of New Iberia, Ty LeBlanc and his companion, Sherry, of Arnaudville; three daughters, Vickie LeBlanc and her companion, Jules, of Breaux Bridge, Janet LeBlanc and her companion, Kelly, of Breaux Bridge, and Angie LeBlanc and her companion, Doyle, of Carencro; two step-sons, Blake Thibodeaux and his wife, Amy, of Nashville, TN, and Dirk Thibodeaux and his wife, Kelly, of Ellisville, MS; his step-daughter, Angela Racca and her husband, Shane, of Cecilia; two sisters, Betty Cormier, of Lafayette, and Marie Albert, of Breaux Bridge; 34 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Nolie Champagne LeBlanc; and two brothers, Roland and Ronald LeBlanc. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Wednesday and continue at 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. A rosary will be recited at ;6 p.m. on Wednesday. Pallbearers will be his sons, Shane, Clint, and Ty LeBlanc, Blake and Dirk Thibodeaux, and his nephew, Troy Albert. Honorary pallbearers will be Julian Wilks, Kelly Hargrave, Troy Miller, Shane Racca, Tom Broussard, Doyle Fairfield, and Joe Sanchez. Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia is in charge of arrangements.
