Maurice - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, April 12, 2008, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Maurice, for John LeBlanc, 78, who passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2008 at Consolata Nursing Home in New Iberia. Interment will follow at St. Alphonsus Cemetery, in Maurice. Rev. Fr. Joseph Breaux, Pastor of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, will officiate at the funeral Mass. Mr. LeBlanc honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. He was retired from Fleming Foods in Lafayette. Survivors include his former wife, Hazel Bourque LeBlanc; two sons, John A. LeBlanc, of St. Martinville and Richard LeBlanc, of Richland, MO; three daughters, Kathy L. Castro and her husband, Robert, of Meaux, Tammy LeBlanc, of Scott, and Geraldine Hoover and her husband, Robert, of Lake Charles; three step sons, Wallace "Blackie" Gary and his wife, Faith, of Kaplan, Michael Gary, of New Iberia, and Wilfred "T-Boy" Gary, Sr. and his wife, Lynette, of New Iberia; two step daughters, Darlene Owens and her husband, Steve, of Jeanerette, and Suzanne Romero and her husband, Paul, of New Iberia; one brother, Francis LeBlanc, of Lafayette; one sister, Leta Broussard, of Maurice; nine grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francois and Anaise Broussard LeBlanc; his 2nd wife, Mary Segura LeBlanc; five brothers, Alex, Ignace, Eddie, Alpha, and Clarence LeBlanc; three sisters, Mrs. Hortense L. Baudoin, Mrs. Nedia L. Trahan, and Edith Dronet; and a granddaughter, Janet Hoover. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 4:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Friday and continue at 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. on Saturday. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Friday. Pallbearers will be Steve Owens, Jr., William Owens, Corey Romero, Michael J. LeBlanc, Dustin Richard, and Brian Miller.
