Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, February 27, 2010, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for John Terry Menard, 55, who passed away on Monday, February 22, 2010 at his residence.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Father James Patrick Fallon will officiate at the Funeral Mass. The first Scripture reading will be read by Lionel Batiste and the second by Melanie Waters. ; Musical selections will be provided by Lloyd Richards.
Survivors include his father, John B. Menard, of Breaux Bridge; his companion, Mary Ann Jackson, of Breaux Bridge; six brothers, Eldridge Menard (Pauline), of Breaux Bridge, Clyde Menard (Shelia), of Los Angeles, CA; Michael Menard, Randall Menard (Centrell), Eric Menard, and Albert Menard, all of Breaux Bridge; three sisters, Phyllis Demouchet (Andrew), Andrea Menard, and Rachel Menard, all of Breaux Bridge; his godmother, Alma Dugas, aunts, Evelyn Menard, and Brenda and Yvonne Berard, and great aunt, Emily James, all of Breaux Bridge; uncle, Ronald Berard (Mary), of Houston, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and his special friends, Ernest Ledet (Alma) and Orel Ledet (Cordelia).
He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Z. Menard; a brother, Ricky Menard; uncles, Charlie Berard and Felix Menard; a niece and nephew, Ashley Menard and Terrance Lastrapes; paternal grandparents, Mercy and Condile Menard; maternal grandparents, Lambert and Lillie Mae Berard, and maternal grandfather, George Zenon.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Friday and continue at 7 a.m. until 10 a.m. on Saturday.
A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. on Friday.
Honored to serve as his Pallbearers are Clyde Menard, Albert Menard, Ernest Ledet, Ed Baltazar, Harold Celestine, and Howard Babineaux.
Honorary Pallbearers will be his brothers, Eldridge, Michael, Randall, and Eric, the Thursday Cooking Crew, Andrew Demouchet, Orel Ledet, Ronald Berard, Joseph C. Landor, and Tim Dugas.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Heart of Hospice, special cousin, Diane Dugas, and aunts, Evelyn Menard and Verlie Henry, for the constant care given to him during his illness.
