John Mullins

Breaux Bridge - A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at The Breaux Bridge Pentecostals for John Mullins, 61, who passed away on Friday, November 29, 2024 in Lafayette.

A visitation will take place at The Breaux Bridge Pentecostals on Saturday from 8:30 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm.

Reverend Jonathan Haygood will officiate at the Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Johnson Hanks Cemetery in Morse.

John was the ultimate family man. He adored his family more than anything, and that same love was transferred to his church family at the Breaux Bridge Pentecostals. He loved serving God by doing sound and helping out in any way that he could. He led his family by faithfully walking with God every step of his life. He was married to love of his life, Hope, for 34 1/2 years, and together, they shared a daughter, Tristan, who became his world and could never do wrong in his eyes. Later on, he was blessed with a son-in-law, Bryan, who he loved and treated just like his own. Outside of family and church, he enjoyed working on cars and teaching his son-in-law everything that he possibly could. He was a jack of all trades, but being a mechanic was his love. Anyone who truly knew him, knew that he was kind and the ultimate friend. He never met a stranger and could talk the entire dictionary if you took the time to let him. He also loved his daughter's dog, Romeo, beyond words. He always stopped to get him treats before coming to see him or he made him his infamous peanut butter sandwiches. His Bubba will miss him. He was a giant in his family, and he will be missed and loved forever.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Chasitty Cormier Mullins; daughter, Tristan LeCompte (Bryan); sister, Gwendolyn O'Quin; brother, William Mullins, Jr. (Marsha); special daughters, McKenzie Viator and Devin Crochet; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his grandchild, Infant LeCompte; parents, William Mullins, Sr. and Lenora Dykes Mullins; brother, Stephen Mullins; brother-in-law, Wayne O'Quin; and special aunt, Jewelean Hemphill.

Pallbearers will be Bryce Teekell, Jason Tippy, Dale Taylor, Kevin Hemphill, Brandon d'Augereau and Seth Blount.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mason Dickerson and Bryan LeCompte.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center, especially Dr. Henry Kaufman, IV and nurse, Mary Beth.

Pellerin Funeral Home (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements.
