John Paul Rodrigue

Rynella - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 pm, on Friday, January 20, 2023, at St. Marcellus Catholic Church in Rynella, for John Paul Rodrigue, 62, who passed away on Monday, January 16, 2023, as a result of an automobile accident.  

Entombment will be at a later date.

Rev. Keith Landry will be the Celebrant.

Visitation will be Friday from 9:00 am until 1:15 pm at Pellerin Funeral Home. A rosary, led by Deacon Durk Viator, will be prayed at 11:15 am Friday.

A lifelong resident of New Iberia, John Paul Rodrigue was born on November 27, 1960, and he was a 1978 graduate of NISH. He was extremely patriotic, honoring and supporting our veterans. He was very active in Boy Scouts of America; he mentored countless young men as the Scout Master of Troop 15, Avery Island. He had a midlife career change to become a paramedic, and worked for Acadian Ambulance, a job he truly loved. John enjoyed deer hunting, spending many days in the deer stand and relaxing at the camp. He also loved cooking for his friends and family, creating amazing meals with the only goal of making his people happy. Anyone that knew John would agree that he would give you the shirt off of his back if you needed it. He was generous and selfless; willing to help any and every one, always. He will be deeply missed.

Mr. Rodrigue is survived by a daughter, Dillan Taylor (Jordan); sons, Logan Rodrigue (Megan), and Grant Rodrigue; stepchildren, Gabriel Segura and Sierra Louviere; grandchildren, Taralyn and Landon Rodrigue, and Jules and Marlowe Taylor; siblings, Richard Rodrigue (Kathy), Thomas Searcy, Jr., Deborah Weiss, and Gregory Searcy (Keri); mothers of his children, Nadine Pourciaux, and Sarah Arabie; Mom Anne; and numerous nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death his parents, Louis Donald Rodrigue, Elaine LeBlanc Rodrigue, and Thomas Searcy, Sr.

Pallbearers will be Logan Rodrigue, Ricky Rodrigue, Larry Comeaux, Tony Delcambre, David Guidry, and Jacob Musumeche.
