Breaux Bridge - A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM, on Friday, March 24, 2023, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge for John Reed, 70, who passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, March 19, 2023.

A visitation will take place at the funeral home on Friday from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.  A rosary will be prayed at 12:30 PM on Friday.

Deacon Marcel "Butch" Hebert will officiate at the funeral service. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery #2.

John Reed was born on May 24, 1952, in Breaux Bridge, the second son of Joseph Bennett and Beatrice Degeyter Reed. He was the owner of John Reed Construction, building homes in and around St. Martin Parish, he also worked Bulliard Construction for several years before his retirement.

He is survived by his sons, Bruce (Paula) Reed and Christopher (Erin) Reed; the mother of his children, Violet Reed; grandchildren, Christopher James (Paige) Reed, Bob (Madison) Reed, and Brooklynn Reed; great-grandchildren, Piper, Beckett, Amelia and Beau Reed; his companion, Pamela Champagne; brothers, Russell (Norma) Reed, Charles (Sharon) Reed, Patrick (Janelle) Reed, and Benny Reed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Bennett and Beatrice Degeyter Reed; maternal grandparents, Thaddy and Eula Castille Degeyter; paternal grandparents, Estelle Reed and Arthrimise Hayes Alleman; and his sister-in-law, Donna Reed.

Pallbearers will be Bruce Reed, Christopher Reed, Bob Reed, Chris Thibodeaux, Brooklyn Reed, Chris Reed, and Russell Reed.
