John Savage

Catahoula - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, on Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at St. Rita Catholic Church in Catahoula, for John Harrison 'Big John' Savage, Jr., 67, who passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2013. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge, from 3:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Tuesday, and continue on Wednesday at 7:00 am until 10:00 am. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Tuesday. Rev. Richard Fabre will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery in Catahoula. John was self-employed as a consultant for his company, Savage Drilling. He enjoyed hunting, motorcycle riding, playing cards, and spending time with his family and friends. He looked forward to football season each year and also enjoyed watching western movies with his three dogs. He is survived by his wife, Sandral Boudreaux Savage of Breaux Bridge; his son, John H. (Chasity) Savage, III of New Iberia; his daughter, Susan (Brian) Tipper of Erath; two step sons, Davis (Jennifer) Theriot, Jr. and John Theriot, all of Breaux Bridge; two step daughters, Sue Alice Theriot of Duncan, OK and Jennifer "Tee" (Shawn) Bodoin of Youngsville; his brother, Murray "Speed" (Cheryl) Savage of Marlow, OK; his sister, Patricia P. White of Fort Cobb, OK; and 10 grandchildren, Amber Theriot, Taylor Theriot, Jonathan Theriot, Shealynn Broussard, Trey Savage, Julianne Tipper, Jake Tipper, Andrew Bodoin, Peyton Bodoin, and Robert Savoie. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mary Pierano Savage and John Harrison Savage, Sr.; his daughter, Karrie Shawn Savage; two sisters, Mariette Savage and Rosemary Mitchell; a niece, Paula Savage Fleetwood; and two great nieces, Courtney Savage and Halie Fleetwood. Pallbearers will be Dean Blanchard, Jamie Rodrigue, John Theriot, Trey Savage, Terry Borel, Deno Boudreaux, Jr., Shawn Bodoin, and Nolan Wiltz.
