John Cephas Tabor, Jr.

Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 7, 2021, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for John Cephas Tabor, Jr., 81, who passed away on Monday, January 4, 2021, at Lakeview Regional Medical Center in Covington, LA. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 9:00 am until 10:30 am on Thursday. A rosary will be prayed at 10:00 am on Thursday. Deacon Butch Hebert will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery #2 in Breaux Bridge. John was a parishioner of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, where he also served as an Usher for many years. He honorably served in the Army National Guard and was a member of the Automobile Association. John loved watching football and collecting model cars; he loved cars. John was an entrepreneur who organized and operated several businesses. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Betty M. Tabor of Breaux Bridge; four sons, John (Peggy) Tabor of St. Mary, GA, Chris (Angela) Tabor of Breaux Bridge, Jim (Blanche) Tabor of Breaux Bridge, and Charles (Mellonie) Tabor of Breaux Bridge; daughter, Cherry Tabor of Breaux Bridge; two sisters, Jackie Dupuis and Cheryl Tabor Sepulvado, both of Breaux Bridge; one brother, Isaac Tabor of Lafayette; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, John C. and Elzina Simon Tabor, Sr; a grandchild, Sarah Marie Guidry; and a great grandchild, Judith Lynn Benton. Pallbearers will be John, Chris, Jim, Charles, Travis, and Grant Tabor. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge, 211 Berard St., Breaux Bridge, LA 70517, (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements.
