Cecilia - A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, August 13, 2019, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Cecilia for Johnnie E. Roberts, 74, who passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2019, at her residence surrounded by her family. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm on Tuesday. A rosary will be prayed at 1 pm on Tuesday. Deacon Ken Soignier will officiate at the Funeral Service. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. Johnnie E. Roberts passed away peacefully in her home on August 10, 2019, surrounded by her family. Johnnie was always laughing and always looking for her next adventure. She lived a selfless life and put great care into everything she did. Her love for learning gave her a contagious excitement for life that brought everyone around her to love her as her family did. The people in her life were most important to her, and that was obvious in the way she loved them. She never missed a single birthday, holiday or celebration of the sort, and she always had a pair of earrings to match. She showed her six grandchildren what a perfect grandmother looks like, and that is a gift that will be passed on for generations to come. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages that memorials be made in Johnnie’s name to Hospice of Acadiana. Johnnie is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, John Roberts, Sr.; her four children, Lorna Roberts, John Roberts, Jr. and wife Anita, Judy Roberts and Brenda Manos; her sister, Patsy Hawkins; her brother, Michael Feely; her grandchildren, Joshua Roberts, Hailey Donaldson, Kerrigan Hebert, Jr., Leah Hebert, Makenna Ortiz, and Molly Hebert; and her great grandson, Brayden Roberts. Johnnie was also very special to her close friend and favorite travel buddy, Ginger Latiolais, who always made sure she knew how much she was loved. She is also survived by many other beloved nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Woodrow and Verna Lyle Feely; and brother, Robert Feely. Pallbearers will be John Roberts, Jr., Kerrigan Hebert, Jr., Clifford Roberts, Bryan Roberts, Kyle Roberts, and Joshua Roberts. Honorary pallbearers will be Landon Roberts and Jeremy Freese.
