Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, September 19, 2009, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Johnny Borel, 41, who passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at his residence in Breaux Bridge. Interment will follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Cecilia. Fr. Fallon will conduct the services. Readers will be Kevin Johnson, Jr. and Irma Stewart. Johnny was an employee of Guidrys Catfish in Henderson, LA for over 25 years. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, listening to music and being outdoors. He especially enjoyed riding with his friends on weekends. Survivors include his father, John Joseph Borel of Breaux Bridge; his wife, Dorothy Sylvester Borel of Breaux Bridge; his step-sons, Danny Sylvester, David Sylvester, and Joseph Sylvester, all of Breaux Bridge; his step-daughters, Cathy Sylvester, Ericka Sylvester, and Adrianna Joseph, all of Breaux Bridge; his brother, Donald Borel of Breaux Bridge; his sister, Lisa Borel of Cecilia; and his 6 step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Lucy Gordon Borel; his paternal grandparents, George Borel, Sr. and Enola Calais Borel; his maternal grandparents, Horace and Wilda Gordon; and several aunts and uncles. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 7:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2009. A rosary will be recited at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
