Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, February 11, 2017, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cecilia for Joseph C. Alexander, 66, who passed away on Monday, February 6, 2017. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 8:00 am until 10:00 am on Saturday. A rosary will be prayed at 8:30 am on Saturday. Rev. Neil Pettit will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Reader will be Melissa Hall. Gift bearers will be Christopher Lewis and Bryson Alexander. Mr. Alexander was a graduate of Carver High School and continued his education and obtained a Bachelor's Degree from Southern University. He was a special education teacher with St. Mary Parish School Board and cherished working with special needs children until he became ill. Mr. Alexander was a member of Knights of St. Peter Claver in Franklin and loved following L.S.U. football with his nephew. Mr. Alexander was always known for having nice clothes, jewelry, and shoes, and his fascination for cars. He was a loving brother and cherished moments spending time with the ones he loved, especially his nieces and nephews. He is survived by his brothers, Charles Gerald Alexander and wife Shirley of Breaux Bridge, Wilbert James Alexander and companion Louella of Breaux Bridge, Herbert Lee Alexander and wife Doris of Baytown, TX, and Herman Alexander and companion Connie of Breaux Bridge; sisters, Sylvia Lewis and husband Larry of Breaux Bridge, Mary J. Williams and husband John H. Williams of Houston, TX, Mary E. Lewis and husband Samuel Sr. of Houston, TX, and Betty J. Hedgepeth and husband James of Midwest City, OK; aunts, Roslie Alexander of Houston, TX and Mary Lewis of Jennings; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by father, Joseph Roosevelt Alexander; mother, Eva Lewis Alexander; brother, Robert Alexander; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Gabriel Lewis; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Alexander; and numerous aunts and uncles. Pallbearers will be Shawn Williams, Dominie Martinez, Brian Williams, Jonathan Lewis, Reginald Alexander, and Jermaine Gregory. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles G. Alexander, Wilbert J. Alexander, Herbert L. Alexander, Larry Lewis, John H.
