Joseph Angelle

Cecilia - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Joseph James "Pop Jim" Angelle, 81, who passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2009 at St. Agnes Nursing Home in Breaux Bridge. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. Rev. Ed Degeyter will conduct the services. Affectionately known as "Pop Jim", he was a charter member of the Morley Gang hunting club. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and cooking. Survivors include his step daughters, Sharon Craigan Ledet of Beaumont, TX and Gail Mae Gimble of Houston, TX; his brother, Jessie Angelle of Butte La Rose and his sister, Alice Degeyter of Breaux Bridge. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Thibodeaux Angelle; his parents, Albin and Helen Betancourt Angelle; his brother, Roger Angelle and his sisters, Paola Bogue, Aline Hoble and Barbara Lasseigne. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 12:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Monday and continue at 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday. A rosary will be recited Monday evening. Pallbearers will be Terry Angelle, Burke Angelle, Wayne Degeyter, Clint Lasseigne, Chris Lasseigne and Burton Richard. Honorary pallbearers will be Byron Degeyter, Kirby Degeyter, Ronald Brasseaux and Shakey Wiltz. The family would like to thank Dr. Degatur and St. Agnes Nursing Home Staff for the care that was given to Pop Jim. Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia is in charge of arrangements.
