Parks - Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am, on Saturday, July 20, 2013, at St. Louis Chapel in Parks, for Joseph A. Berard, 93, who passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2013, at Charlotte Regional Medical Center in Florida. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at St. Louis Chapel, 1006 St. Louis Drive, Parks Louisiana, from 8:00 am until 10:00 am on Saturday. A rosary will be recited at 9:00 am on Saturday. Rev. Donovan Labbe will officiate at the Funeral Service. Reader will be Jalen Howard. Gift Bearers will be Clare and David Dunbar. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Joseph honorably served his country in the Army. He received his masters degree from Columbia University and for many years was a Math teacher in California. He is survived by his wife, Rita Faulk Berard; his daughter Inez Howard; and numerous grandchildren and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Leda Dugas Berard; and his son, Clyde Berard. Pellerin Funeral Home (337-332-2111), is in charge of arrangements.
