Joseph Bourque

New Iberia - Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Thursday, September 13, 2012, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia, for Joseph E. Bourque, 80, who died on Sunday, September 9, 2012. Interment will follow in the Broussard Cemetery. Rev. Ed Degeyter will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. ; A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Mr. Bourque was born on October 13, 1931, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked in the oilfield for over 40 years retiring from Noble Drilling as a superintendent. An avid gardener, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his sons, Paul Bourque and wife Sally, Sammy Bourque, and Randall Bourque all of New Iberia; daughter, Darlene Mayeaux and husband Patrick of New Iberia; brothers, Zoda Bourque and Renaud Bourque both of New Iberia; sisters, Lucy Pete and husband Roy, Helen Worley, and Edith Dooley all of New Iberia; 13 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou ;Bourque; brothers, Wesley Bourque, Robert Bourque; sister, Judith Berard.
