New Iberia - Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm, on Friday, April 10, 2015, at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church in New Iberia, for Joseph Breaux, 78, who passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at Iberia Extended Care. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 5:30 pm until 9:00 pm on Thursday, and continue on Friday at 8:00 am until 1:30 pm . A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Thursday. Reverend Ed Degeyter will officiate at the Funeral Service. Scriptures will be read by Ginger Breaux White and Amos Derouen. Gift bearers will be Ashlon Smith, Mason White, and Victoria Breaux. Interment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery in New Iberia. Joseph was employed at David's Funeral Home for 26 years. His hobbies included; woodworking, making handheld fans, fishing, camping, gardening. He truly cherished moments spent with his family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who meant the world to him. Mr. Breaux loved spending times with his two dogs Kacie and Gabby. He is survived by his wife, Emily Derouen Breaux of New Iberia; children, Glenn Breaux and wife Gail of New Iberia, Laine Breaux and wife Melissa of New Iberia, Chuck Breaux and wife Cindy of Breaux Bridge, and Wendy Breaux Robin and husband Dean of Catahoula; two dogs, Kacie and Gabby; sister, Thelma Moore of Missouri; grandchildren, Desiree Smith and wife Rebecca, Archie "Put" Smith and wife Agnes, Ginger White and husband Jeremey, Dusti Smith, Victoria Breaux, and Hollie Breaux; great-grandchildren, Torey Smith, Kyendi Smith, Ashlon Smith, Aiden Smith, Mason White, Andon Smith, Leah Smith and Reese White. He is preceded in death by his parents; Joseph Breaux and Anita Norris Breaux; sister, Alice Hebert; niece , Ann Callhan; daughter in law, Kimberly Breaux. Pallbearers will be Glenn Breaux, Laine Breaux, Chuck Breaux, Desiree Smith, Archie "Put" Smith and Dusti Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Dean Robin, Amos Derouen, Terry Charpentier, Torey Smith and Royal David.
