Parks - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 26, 2020, at St. Louis Chapel in Parks for Joseph Brown, Jr., 73, who passed away on Friday, December 18, 2020, at Lafayette General Medical Center.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 8:00 am until 10:30 am on Saturday.
A rosary will be prayed at 9:00 am on Saturday.
Rev. Nicholas DuPre' will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Joseph, known to many as "No Mercy", was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. Louis Chapel in Parks. He looked forward to praying the Rosary daily. Joseph worked as a Driller in the oilfield for over 30 years, but also did so much for the community of Parks. Joseph was known for being a “people person” and a father figure to many. He was an amazing father and grandfather, who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his son, Joseph (Rashonda Davis) Brown, III; three daughters, Denise (Troy Batiste) Brown, Amanda (Fred Williams, IV) Brown, and Fantella (Kevin Brooks) Brown; six grandchildren, Destiny Danielle Brown, Devin Brown, Sr., Dylan Brown, Danaya Zeno, Daniel Zeno, Jr. and Kaven Brooks; seven great grandchildren, Chaz Perrodin, Jr., Caine Perrodin, Devin Brown, Jr., Denim Brown, Demi Brown, O'Shea Jacquet and Karson Batiste; godchildren, Gina Johnson, Christopher Morris and Albert Morris; and sister figures, Helen Anthony and Mary Hamilton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Mae Brown; father, Joseph Brown, Sr.; mother, Ida Marie Williams; brother, Paul Hebert; and three sisters, Theresa Jacob, Thelma Jacob and Fannie Brown.
Pallbearers will be Dylan Brown, Christopher Morris, Albert Morris, Josh Williams, Kip Jacob, and William Lewis.
