VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE Cecilia - Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, November 28, 2008, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cecilia for Joseph Shelby "Byum" Carmouche, 69, who passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. Interment will follow at in St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Cecilia. "Byum" as he was known by his family and friends, loved to play his guitar. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include one son, Sherman Carmouche; two daughters, Gwendolyn Hudson and her husband, Gregory, and Serena Hebert and her husband, Latoris, all of Cecilia; two brothers, Ernest Carmouche, of Lafayette, and Eldis Carmouche, of Carencro; three sisters, Julia Griffin and Genevieve Griffin, both of Lafayette, and Joyce Johnson, of Carencro; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Garfield and Mercedes Babineaux Carmouche; five brothers, Lester, George, Garfield June, Willie, and Sylvester Carmouche; and one sister, Hazel Charles. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Friday. A rosary will be recited at 8:30 a.m. Pallbearers will be Sherman Carmouche, Gregory Hudson, Latoris Hebert, Randall Babineaux, Roland Robicheaux, and Elroy Williams. Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia is in charge of arrangements.
