BreauxBridge - Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, August 27, 2011, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Joseph Rodney Derouselle, 59, who passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at Lafayette General Medical Center. Fr. Joseph Campion will officiate at the funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Josepha Wiltz. Gift bearers will be Hunter Wiltz and Ava Williams. Interment will follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Breaux Bridge. Joseph wasa lifelong parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and a past member of the Knights of Peter Claver. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed playing football, baseball, an basketball. Joseph looked forward to attending family gatherings, giving him the opportunity to spend precious time with his family and friends. He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved him. He leaves these cherished words of heartfelt thoughts and remembrance: 'To all my family and friends, I wish you all the best of luck in the future - you'll always be in my prayers.' Survivors include his companion of 26 years, Prenella Hypolite of Breaux Bridge; his son, Briceson O. Derouselle of Breaux Bridge; two daughters, Robyn Derouselle of Breaux Bridge and Tanille Derouselle of Houston, TX; two step sons, Dominic Hypolite of Breaux Bridge, and Roderick Richard of Houston, TX; a step daughter, Gretchen Richard of Houston, TX; one brother, Donald Derouselle; two sisters, Jeanette Demouchette and Genevieve Celestine, all of Breaux Bridge; and ten grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Mary Abraham Derouselle; two sisters, Barbara Alexander and Stella Wiltz; maternal grandparents, Rodney and Angelina Abraham; paternal grandparents, Noah and Theresa Derouselle; and a step granddaughter, ZaKeria Richard The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Friday and continue on Saturday at 7 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. on Friday. Pallbearers will be Lawrence Johnson, Jr., Gerald Etienne, Briceson Derouselle, Daylan Martineze, McKinley Demouchette, Jr., and Henry Derouselle.
