Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., on Tuesday, July 10, 2007, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Joseph Dugas Devillier, Jr., 78, who died on Sunday, July 8, 2007 in Texas.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Fr. Allen Breaux, Associate Pastor of St. Bernard Church, will conduct the services.
Mr. Devillier was a barber in Breaux Bridge for many years. He was also a carpenter who loved fishing, hunting and recollecting old stories; he will be sadly missed by his family and loved ones
Survivors include his wife, Laura Hardy Devillier; two sons, Howard Devillier and his wife, Rebecca, and Donald Devillier, all of Breaux Bridge; three daughters, Andrea Devillier, of Crowley, Jeanette "Jet" D. Angelle and her husband, Clifford, of Lafayette, and Anna Maria Devillier, of Breaux Bridge; two step sons, Allen Hardy and his wife, Pam, of San Antonio, TX and Russell Hardy, of Iowa, LA; two step daughters, LaDonna Singletary and her husband, Bryan, of Iowa, LA and Karen Foreman and her husband, Keith, of LaPorte, TX; two sisters, Leola Mallet and her husband, Emery, of Arnaudville, and Viola Taylor and her husband, Steven, of Sunset; six grandchildren, Tonya Thibodeaux, Naomie Degeyter, Craig Devillier, Chris Devillier, Rena Romero, and Cruz Angelle; three step grandchildren, Ross Hardy, Jody Singletary, and Jill Singletary; and eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dugas and Lourina Stelly Devillier; his wife, Madeline Meyers Devillier; and a great granddaughter, Mya Miguel Devillier.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Monday and continue at 7 a.m. on Tuesday until time of service.
A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
Pallbearers will be Craig Devillier, Chris Devillier, Cruz Angelle, Timmy Mallet, Keith Foreman, and Bryan Singletary.
Honorary pallbearers will be Allen Hardy, Emery Mallet, Steven Taylor, Robert Meyers, and Clifford Angelle.
