St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 30, 2006, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Joseph Claud Hebert, 89, who died Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at his residence in St. Martinville.
Interment will be in St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Mr. Hebert was a member of the St. Martinville Lions Club. His favorite hobbies included fishing, hunting and flower gardening.
Survivors include three sons, Tim Hebert and his wife Cathy, Robert Hebert, all of St. Martinville and Chris "Kip" Hebert and his wife, Carrie Sue of Baton Rouge; two daughters, Katherine H. Whisman and her husband, Edward "Kirk" Whisman of Benbrook, TX, and Janet H. Bevan of Baton Rouge; one sister, Elma H. Resweber of St. Martinville; five grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude "Tude" G. Hebert; his parents, Constance L. Vega and Peter Janvier Hebert; and two brothers, J. Ferdie Hebert and "Beno" Hebert.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 2:00 p.m. ~ 10:00 p.m. on Thursday and continue at 8:00 a.m. on Friday until time of service.
The Catholic Daughters will recite a rosary at 4:00 p.m., followed by another rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
Pallbearers were Scott Hebert, Mark Hulin, Patrick Dayton, Jr., Kirk Whisman, Aaron Hebert, and Jay Hebert.
Honorary pallbearers were Cliff Durand, Gerald Faulk, and Wade Watkins.
Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.
