St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, February 9, 2008, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Joseph ""Jay"" C. Huval, 73, who passed away on Wednesday, February 6, 2008 in Breaux Bridge. Entombment will follow at St. Michael Mausoluem in St. Martinville. Fr. Austin Leger, pastor of St. Martin de Tours Church, will conduct the services. Readers will be Karl and Janet Douet. ?Gift Bearers are Stacey Landry and Tammy Trimble. Mr. Huval was a member of the Azalea and Bayou Camping Club. ?He spent many weekends camping and meeting other members in the clubs that he and his wife participated in through the years. ?He never met a stranger that didn't enjoy his company. ?He enjoyed traveling, partying, cooking for family and friends, but most of all, preparing his cracklins and boudin. Jay was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend to all who knew him. ?He was referred to as ""Amps"", a nickname, which most of his family called him. ? Survivors include, his loving wife, Ethel B. Huval of Breaux Bridge; his four sons and their wives, Dayne and Kathy Huval of St. Martinville, Craig Huval, Joey Huval, and Darin and Regina Huval, all of Cade, La.; his daughter, Vicki Badon and her husband, Norris of Breaux Bridge; his brother, Rolland and his wife, Jeanie of Rayne; his sisters, Elaine Smith and Linda Seaux; his grandchildren, Stacey Landry and her husband, Scott, Tammy Trimble and her husband, Billy, Shawn Bergeron, Nichelle Bourque, Jude Huval and Chelsea Huval; and his great grandchildren, Aubrey Trimble and Blayze Landry. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Huval; his mother, Antoinette Douet Huval; his son, Burt J. Huval; and his sister, Jeanette Badeaux. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10 a.m. until time 10 p.m. on Friday and continue at 7 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Friday. Pallbearers will be Norris Badon, Scott Landry, Billy Trimble, Shawn Bergeron, Aubrey Trimble, Chippy Guidry and Jude Huval Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.
