Joseph Schexnailder III

New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 PM, on Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at St. Peter Catholic Church in New Iberia, for Joseph Schexnailder III, 62, who passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2016, in New Iberia. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. Rev. Gary Schexnayder will be the Celebrant. A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A vigil service will be held at 6:00 PM Tuesday, followed by a rosary at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until 1:30 PM A native of Arnaudville and a resident of New Iberia, Mr. Schexnailder was born on January 21, 1954, and was a Pharmacist for Rite Aid. He was an avid LSU Fan and he enjoyed hunting, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Julie Olivier Schexnailder of New Iberia; sons, Patrick Schexnailder and wife Rachael of Birmingham, AL, Michael Schexnailder and wife Audrey of Houston, TX, Robert Schexnailder of Prairieville; daughter, Beth Hodge and husband Carl of Lafayette; parents, Joseph and Marie Breaux Schexnailder, Jr. of Arnaudville; sisters, Carmen Nichols and husband Jim of Lafayette, Vicki West and husband Carey of Lafayette; brother, Greg Schexnailder and wife Angie of Lafayette; grandchildren, Luke Schexnailder, Neil Schexnailder, Mark Schexnailder, and two on the way. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
