Joseph was born on January 15, 1954 in Lafayette. His greatest gift in life was watching his grandchildren grow. He loved playing football and basketball with them every chance he could. JC also tried to attend all his grandchildren's games and activities they were in.
In the summer time he loved to take them and their parents on a family vacation.
JC was known for his kindness and helping hand. He was a jack of all trade. If his kids needed someone to put things together, he was the one they would call on to help them.
He absolutely loved his family unconditionally, also made sure that they were well taken cared of and provided for. His children looked up to him as a role model.
JC was a very hard working man who would never complain about working. He worked on a tug boat as a tug boat captain for 47 years. His hobbies was gardening and making things for the yard, working in his shop, fishing with his fishing buddies exchanging jokes and riding his bike every day. If he would see someone out in the yard he would stop and talk to them. Their was no one that JC wouldn't talk to and make a small joke to get people laughing.
JC was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. His legacy will forever be cherished by his loved ones. He leaves behind his adored children, grandchildren, family, friends and all those whom lives he touched with his kindness.
He is survived by his spouse, Mary Guillotte; son, Jake Guillotte (Natalie); daughter, Tammy Guillotte (Juan); grandchildren, Tyler Rees, Jagger Guillotte, Jaxton Guillotte; step-grandchildren, Kennedy Rees, Chandler Rees, Christian Rees and Gunnar Conques; 3 step great-grandchildren; siblings, Bessie Landry, Hubert "Butch" Guillotte (Sally), Richard Guillotte, Brenda Guillotte (Joey Lee), Altos (BeBe) Gaspard (Liz) and Angel Gaspard; and his fur baby, Lucy.
