St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, August 20, 2021 at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Joseph "Ju Maker" Wiltz, 85, who passed away on Saturday, August 14, 2021, at his residence.The family requests that everyone in attendance please wear a mask and practice social distancing.The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 7:00 am until 9:30 am on Friday. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery in St. Martinville. Joseph was a devout Catholic and parishioner of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Lafayette. He worked for Guaranty Bank for many years and then worked for Albertson's until his retirement. Joseph was known for being able to fix anything, which is how he got the nickname "Ju Maker". He loved to watch the news and the weather and he enjoyed talking and telling stories about the old days. Above all, he loved spending time with family and friends. Joseph will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his sisters, Linda Lewis of Zachary, Audrey Stone (Ray) of Atlanta, GA, Gail Wiltz of New Iberia, Carolyn Wiltz (Patrick) of St. Martinville, Cynthia Boyo (Fred) of Houston, TX, Patricia Wiltz of St. Martinville, Lois Batiste of St. Martinville and Donna Barras (Dwight) of Atlanta, GA; special niece and caregiver, Nicole Roberson (Robert) of St. Martinville; and godchildren, Hailey Jean Roberson and Peggy Lewis. He was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa Lewis Wiltz; parents, Paul Wiltz and Rose Arceneaux Wiltz; stepmother, Louise Johnson Wiltz; sister, Virginia Wiltz; brothers, Gralie Wiltz, Leroy Wiltz, Charles Wiltz, Nelson Bonnie, Hebert Bonnie and Walter Bonnie; nephew, Ricky Wiltz; and brothers-in-law, Junius Ledet and Jessie Lewis. Pallbearers will be Robert Roberson, Ray Stone, Sr., Matthew Conley, Steve Gales, Jr., Mark Breaux and Brad Baptiste.
