Joseph V. LaCombe Jr.

Breaux Bridge - Joseph V. ""J.V."" LaCombe, Jr. went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 20, 2007. ?A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 23, 2007, at First United Pentecostal Church in Breaux Bridge. ?The Rev. L. F. Long will officiate the service. Interment will follow at d'Augereau Cemetery in Breaux Bridge. Mr. LaCombe was employed by Amoco Production Company in 1948 until his retirement in 1984. ?He was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church of Breaux Bridge since 1967, the Pentecostal Campers International, and he also coached the church baseball team. ?He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting, sports, and camping. ?He was a great story-teller with a detailed imagination. ?He was a friend to all and to all of those who entered his home. ?He loved his family and God above all. Survivors include his wife and best friend of 57 years, Emma Lou Patin LaCombe, of Breaux Bridge; one son, Ronald LaCombe and his wife, Pam, of Eunice, LA; two daughters, Sharon Been and her husband, Tim, of Bailey, CO, and Donna Valentine and her husband, Jay, of Bossier, LA; two brothers, Clifford and Robert Lacombe; three sisters, Doris Hoyt, Cecile Hoyt, and Nellie Lecklet; nine grandchildren, Shelley Seger, Todd Ferguson, Josh Been, Jim Burkett, Hunter LaCombe, Joseph LaCombe, Joy LaCombe, Jana Valentine, and Seth Valentine; and two great grandchildren, Candyce Seger and Shane Seger. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elodie Cormier LaCombe and Joseph V. ""Buck"" LaCombe, Sr.; two brothers, Orelian and Henry LaCombe; and three sisters, Eva DeHart, Edith LaCombe, and Roberta Winn. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 22, 2007, from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m., and will continue at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 23, 2007 until time of service. Pallbearers will be Seth Valentine, Josh Been, Hunter LaCombe, Milton d'Augereau, Harold Green, and Mike LaCombe. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Burkett, Todd Ferguson, and Joseph LaCombe. The family would like a special thank you bestowed to Dr. and Mrs. Warren Degatur, as a caring physician, as well as neighbors; to Dr. Kowalski, Vanessa and Christy, the staff at St. Martin Hospital, Ms. Judy Green, their caregiver, cab driver, and for her being just a phone call away, and to Rev. and Mrs. Lindsey Long, pastor, as well as special friends. ?A special thank you to their church family, relatives, and friends, for their wonderful support during our trying time. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
