Joseph "Ta" L. Landry

Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Friday, October 2, 2020, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cecilia for Joseph "Ta" L. Landry, 78, who passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2020, at Lafayette General Medical Center. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 7:00 am until 10:30 am on Friday. A rosary will be prayed at 8:30 am on Friday. Deacon Ken Soignier will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Cecilia. Ta was a longtime parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cecilia. He prayed daily and never missed a Saturday Mass. Ta enjoyed spending time with his family and attending trail rides. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Borel Landry; daughter, Dapolia Landry; son, Perry (Judy) Babineaux; sister, Jeannette Wiltz; brother, Chester (Jerry) Wiltz; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph Babineaux and Celestine Babineaux; sisters, Enola Charles, Hazel Daigre, Mary Ann Lavan and Shirley Wiltz; brothers, Alvin Babineaux, Gussie Babineaux, Shirley Babineaux, Raymond Babineaux, Gaston Babineaux, Sr. and Ruly Wiltz. Pallbearers will be Cody Champagne, Thaddeus Joseph, Kenny Rossyion, Malachi LeBlanc, Nicholas Borel, and Scotty Borel. Honorary pallbearers will be Andrew Babineaux, Clifton Babineaux, Wilton Babineaux, Gaston Babineaux Jr., Derrick Frederick, and Jermaine Borel.
