St. Martinville - A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, July 27, 2020, at Queen of Peace Cemetery in St. Martinville for Joseph Larry LeBlanc, 71, who passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2020, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 7:30 am until 9:30 am on Monday. A rosary will be prayed at 9:00 am on Monday. Fr. Gabriel will officiate at the Graveside Service. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery in St. Martinville. Joseph Larry LeBlanc was born on January 18, 1949 to Elsie and Joseph Steven LeBlanc, he was joined in holy matrimony to Laura Jean Adams on June 6, 1970, to this union two children were born. He attended Grambling State University majoring in Business Administration, he then served our country in the United States Army, he was employed by Texaco for 27 ½ years, he then joined the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office, he retired on January 19, 2019 after serving 18 years. Larry helped so many people almost every day of his life, he never turned anyone away. Larry was a family man, a proud man, a man of virtue, a man of integrity, he was respected by everyone, he never met a stranger, near or far, he will be greatly missed. He loved each and every one of us in his own special way. He leaves to cherish all the wonderful memories, his loving wife of 50 years, Laura; daughter, Shatteral (David) of Houston, TX; son, Dedric of Houston, TX; two grandchildren, Ashton (Lexi) of Portland, Oregon and Brandon of Houston, TX; sister, Sandra (Stephen) of Lafayette, LA; Michael (Cathy) of Lafayette, LA; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elsie and Joseph Steven LeBlanc, maternal grandparents, Octavia and Gustave Dardar; paternal grandparents, Lionel LeBlanc, Edna and George Frederick Sr.; nephew, Keith Joseph; his In-laws Vivian and Silas Adams Sr.; and brothers-in-law, Kenny Wayne Adams and Dwayne (Butch) Perry.
