Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, June 16, 2007, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, in Breaux Bridge for Joseph Ravis LeBlanc, 81, who died on Thursday, June 14, 2007 at St. Agnes Nursing Home in Breaux Bridge.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 1 in Breaux Bridge.
Fr. Allen Breaux, associate pastor of St. Bernard Church, will conduct the funeral service.
Mr. LeBlanc was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U. S. Army. He was awarded the Bronze Star for leading his troop.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Rose T. LeBlanc, of Breaux Bridge; one daughter, Yvonne Broussard and her husband, Harvey, of Lafayette; one granddaughter, Michelle Broussard Dugas and her husband, Ray; and one great grandson, Baylen Joseph Dugas, all of Carencro.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arille and Edolie L. LeBlanc; five brothers, Hilton, Eris, Allen, Wilken, and Alton LeBlanc; and one sister, Lou Ella Blanchard.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 3:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Friday and continue at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday until time of service.
A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Friday evening.
Pallbearers will be Ray Dugas, Ronnie Theriot, Shane LeBlanc, Shawn Blanchard, Grant Bienvenu, and Gordon Gallet.
Honorary pallbearers will be Baylen Dugas and Greg Gallet.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Hospice of Acadiana, especially his nurse, Doris Landry, and to Joan Guidry, Dr. Khorsandi and Patti, and the staff at St. Agnes Nursing Home. They would also like to especially thank the "Best" sister-in-law one could ask for, Lucille LeBlanc, and a brother-in-law, Sam Blanchard.
