Joseph Miller

Parks - Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., on Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Parks, for Joseph Miller, 78, who passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at LTAC of Acadiana in Lafayette. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Fr. Ed Degeyter will conduct the services. Readers for the service will be Sonya Broussard and Morgan Soileau. Joseph was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict for two years. His honorable service awarded him with 3 Bronze Service Stars and the United Nations Service Medal. Joseph was a member of the Parks Knights of Columbus. He retired from Dow Chemical as a pipeline supervisor after many years of service. Joseph enjoyed gardening, fishing, cooking and most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Lena Frederick Miller of Parks; his son, Lonnie Miller and his wife Becky of Parks and his daughter, Lisa Miller of Parks; his brothers, Francis Miller and his wife Marella of Port Arthur, Ernest Miller and his wife, Audrey of Houma and Patrick Miller and his wife, Anna Lee of Breaux Bridge; his sister, Una Trahan of New Iberia; his grandchildren, Brody and Lacie Miller of Parks. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleopha Miller and Agatha Thibodeaux Miller; his sister, Lee Anna Crochet and his brother, Walter Lee Miller. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 2:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Monday, March 10, 2008 and continue at 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Pallbearers will be Lonnie Miller, Brody Miller, Patrick Miller, David Patin, James Miller and Stuart Guillory. Honorary pallbearers will be Francis Miller and Ernest Miller
