VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, March 14, 2009, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Joseph William Nicholas, 93, who passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. Interment will follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Breaux Bridge. Fr. James Fallon will officiate at the funeral Mass. Mr. Nicholas enjoyed going fishing, farming, most especially, growing okra, and he loved spending time with his family. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include five sons, Eugene Nicholas (Laura), of Lafayette, William Nicholas (Barbara), of Las Vegas, NV, Wilfred Nicholas, Sr. (Sheila), of Breaux Bridge, Alvin Nicholas (Maxine), of Arnaudville, and Michael Nicholas; two daughters, Mary Ann Sealy (Kenneth), of Long Beach, CA, and Cecilia Reynolds (Louis), of Lafayette; 22 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Regina St. Julien Nicholas; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nichols Nicholas; three daughters, Wilma and Jean Nicholas, and Lou Esther Marks; four brothers, Jack Nicholas, Preston Nicholas, Walter Nicholas, and Lionel Nicholas; and five sisters, Edna St. Julien, Gertrude Broussard, Elvish Provo, Viola Bussey, and Irene Valet. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 1:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Friday and continue at 7 a.m. until 10 a.m. on Saturday. A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. on Friday. Pallbearers will be Wilfred Nicholas, Jr., William Nicholas, Alvin Nicholas, Eugene Nicholas, Michael Nicholas, and Wilfred Nicholas, Sr. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
