Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, on Friday, January 23, 2015, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Joseph Laify Noel, 63, who passed away on Monday, January 19, 2015, at Heart Hospital of Lafayette. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 7:00 am until 10:45 am on Friday, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Cecilia. A rosary will be prayed at 9:00 am on Friday. Rev. Michael Delcambre will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Jessica Parker and Tameshia Noel. Gift Bearers are Mary Noel and Jane Broussard. Interment will follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Breaux Bridge. Joseph enjoyed listening to music and watching westerns, wrestling, and James Bond movies. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Noel; his brother, Perley Noel; four sisters, Mary Kimble, Ida Smith, Mary Noel, and Jane Broussard; and his granddaughter, Danyah Noel. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gussie and Bernice Landry Noel; two sisters, Gustavia and Rosa Noel; two nephews, Dexter Kimble and Reginald Noel; and a great nephew, Da''Quwan Noel. Pallbearers will be Jason Noel, Arthur Mayweather, Jr., Anthony Smith, Adam Broussard, Raymond Calais, Jr. and Jason Noel, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Journet, Perley Noel, Jonathan Carter, Michael Broussard, Robert Jones, Joe Noel, Curtis Duplechein and Irvin Noel..
