St. Martinville - A Funeral Service will be held at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at 11:00 am for Joseph Picard, 82, who passed away on Friday, October 25, 2019, at New Iberia Manor North. The family request visiting hours be observed at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9:00 am until time of funeral service. Rev. Ed Degeyter will officiate the funeral service. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Mr. Joseph was born November 17, 1936 in St. Martinville. He honorably served his country in the United States National Guard. Joseph was musically inclined. He played the guitar and sang in a few bands with family and friends throughout the years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and most importantly, spending time with his family. He will be dearly missed. He is survived by his daughters, Peggy Legnon (Russel) and Belinda Richard; sons, Joseph D. Picard (Samantha) and Leonard Picard (Francesca); step son Neal Calvit (Ellen); twin sister, Josephine Capritto; grandchildren, Pamela Arton (David), Tosha Legnon, Shane Picard (Rochelle), Jason Picard, Tiffany Meche (Jacob), Brock Picard (Danette), Candice Rogers (Brice), Ava Picard, Brittney James, Jaylyn James, and Noah Windham; great grandchildren, Sarah Rogers, Raegun Rogers, Kali Picard, Ellyahna Picard, Megan Arton, Tretin Legnon (Lanie), Devin Arton, Brooklyn Legnon, Madeline Meche, Dakota Picard, Bentley Picard, Justin Picard, Jada Picard, and Jalyn Picard. He was preceded in death by his wife, Corabell Picard; parents, Valery and Leila Latiolais Picard; two great-grandchildren, Lauralynn Picard, and Traegun Duplantis; his siblings, Harold Picard, Madia Fail, Sadia Milazzo, Lillymae Capritto, Patrick Picard, Sr., and Francis Picard; and two step sons, Donald and Daniel Calvit.
