A native and lifelong area resident, “Pop”, as he was affectionately called by so many, was born on June 6, 1933, in Youngsville, to the late Claude and Lawrence Romero Breaux. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army, during the Korean War, and was an electrician for many years. “Pop” was a very simple man, who could repair anything. In earlier years, he would play French Music with Badeaux and the Louisiana Ace’s, and with Pougie and the Outlaws.
“Pop” enjoyed gardening, taking care of his yard, spending time with his family. He was such a wonderful grandfather, and cherished every moment that he would spend with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Sarah Vice Breaux; children, Mallory Breaux (Kristi), Gwendolyn Breaux (Paul), Timothy Beaux (Sherry), Jacqueline Breaux, Jessica Case (Ryan), Dewana Louviere, and Joseph “Sonny” Breaux, Jr. (Sandra); grandchildren, Ian Breaux, Kristian Breaux, Kennedy Breaux (Logan Broussard), Alexis Breaux (Ryan Desormeaux), Isabella Breaux, Khandi Breaux Seago (Colby), Courtni Case, Tyler Louviere (Yifan), Tori Louviere Rothchild (Andrew), Kristen Breaux Keeter, and Casey Breaux Carriere (Tyler), 14 great grandchildren, and Billy Poirier, who was like a son to him.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Breaux was preceded in death by a sister, Cecile Poirrier; and a grandson, Dillon Breaux.
