Cecilia - Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m, Tuesday, January 23, 2007, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia for Joseph Louis Thomassee, Jr., 62, who died Sunday, January 21, 2007 at his residence in Cecilia. Entombment will follow at St. Bernard Mausoleum No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Fr. Paul Broussard, pastor of St. Joseph Church will conduct the services. Readers are Laura Blanchard and Jamie Angelle. Altar servers are Angelle Thomassee and Calli Dugas. Gift Bearers are McKenzie Wyble, Alex Thomassee, Steven and Shannon Smith. Survivors include his wife, Sherry D. Thomassee of Cecilia; his son, Keith Joseph Thomassee and his wife, Geralyn of Cecilia; his daughter, Celeste T. Wyble and her husband, Danny of Arnaudville; his brothers, Ernest, Carroll, and Nolan Thomassee all of Cecilia, Paul Thomassee of Lake Charles and Gerald Thomassee of Anauhac, Texas; his sisters, Lilly Zeringue and Laida Berard, both of Cecilia and Georgie Boutte of St. Martinville; and his grandchildren, Angelle and Alex Thomassee, McKenzie and Jordy Wyble, Stephen and Shannon Smith. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Louis Thomassee, Sr.; his mother, Amanda Angelle Thomassee; his daughter, Carmen Thomassee Smith; and his sister, Sue Guidry. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 am ~ 10:00 pm on Monday, January 22, 2007 and continue at 7:00 am on Tuesday until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Monday, January 22, 2007. Pallbearers will be Gerald Thomassee, Tracey Thomassee, Carroll Thomassee, Jordy Wyble, Norman Guidry and Errol Richard. Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Thomassee, Danny Wyble, Ernest Thomassee, Paul Thomassee, Nolan Thomassee and Kevin Smith. Special thanks to Dr. James Cole, Dr. Julian Krawczyk, the office of Dr. Kevin Duplechain, 3rd floor Infusion Therapy Clinic of Our Lady of Lourdes, Hospice of Acadiana and their staff, especially Joe Doucet.
