Joseph Touchet

Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 30, 2007, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Joseph ""The Rabbit Man"" Touchet, 77, of Parks, who died Friday, April 27, 2007 at Lafayette General Medical Center. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Fr. Paul LaFleur, pastor of St. Bernard Church, will conduct the services. ?The gift bearers will be his grandchildren, Buddy J. Reed, Joseph Reed, and Dane Joseph Touchet. Mr. Touchet was a veteran of the Korean conflict and was retired from the U.S. Air Force after 22 years of service. ?He worked as a mechanic for 17 years at Petroleum Helicopters, Inc. ?He was referred to as ""The Rabbit Man"" for sponsoring 4-H and F.F.A. events. Survivors include his wife, Clara H. Touchet of Parks; one son, Danny Joseph Touchet, of Canyon Lake, TX; two daughters, Sharon K. Reed and her husband, Charles, of Parks, and Regeina G. Touchet of Flower Mound, TX; one brother, Harold Touchet and his wife, Jeanette, of Henderson; three sisters, Rita and Knott Girad, of New Iberia, Goldie and Roger Hebert, of Cecilia, and Grace and Paul Dor?, Jr., of Broussard; and three grandchildren, Buddy J. Reed, Joseph Reed, both of Parks, and Dane Joseph Touchet, of Canyon Lake, TX. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Altia ""Irene"" Touchet; and his parents, Odeaus and Celelie Lasseigne Touchet. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Sunday and continue at 9:00 a.m. on Monday until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday evening. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
