Cecilia- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, July 1, 2023 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church for Josephine "Buin"  Demouchet, 82, who passed away on June 26, 2023.

 A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Cecilia on Saturday from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM.

 A rosary will be prayed at 9:00 AM on Saturday.

 Rev. Greg Cormier will officiate at the funeral mass. Readers will be LouAnna Cluse, Jada Hubbard, & Jaysa Dartez. Gift bearers will be Kellie Demouchet & Kacey Dartez.

 Interment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Cemetery.

 Josephine was born on July 24, 1940 in Arnaudville.  She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend who touched the hearts of everyone she met with her infectious smile and unwavering kindness.

 Buin's hobbies were a large part of her life and she loved picking pecans every season. She had an exceptional talent for canning okra and making pecan candy that always had everyone coming back for more. One thing that was always evident was Buin's love of cooking and she could often be found in the kitchen whipping up some delicious southern comfort food.

 Buin was always kept busy by the joys of motherhood and grandmother hood. Her family recalls fond memories with Buin at family events where she would get together several times a year just to watch her children and grandchildren grow.

 She is survived by her daughter, Joanna (Joseph, Jr.) Provost; son, LeRoy Demouchet; 16 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild.

 She is preceded in death by her husband Horace Demouchet; parents Arille Broussard and Regina Cluse; children Carroll Demouchet, Suzanne Dartez, and Allen Demouchet,; brothers Dudley Broussard, Joseph Broussard, Lawrence Broussard, and Clarence Broussard; sisters Rose Mae Broussard, Lela Alex, Anna Belle Journet, and Mary Alice Jones; grandchildren Jason Provost and Jeremy Provost; and great, great grandchild Christopher.

 Pallbearers will be Joseph Sherman Provost III, Jorel Provost, Kory Dartez, Austin Alexander, Chandler Demouchet, and Dwight Jones.

 Honorary pallbearers will be Leroy Demouchet, Joseph Sherman Provost Jr, Kelly Dartez, Kyle Dartez, Kameron Palmer, Keshaun Palmer, Kivon Palmer, Jarvis Scott Jr., Jayden Demouchet.
