St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., on Friday, October 21, 2011, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Josephine Capritto Hollier, 79, who passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at in Lafayette. Her eulogy will be read by Tammy Goodrich Comeaux at the funeral home prior to the service. Entombment will follow in St. Michael Mausoleum.
Fr. Ed Degeyter will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be Monique Maturin and Tance Fremin. Gift Bearers will be Carly Fremin, Elaine Roy, Isabelle and Christian Rainwater. Hymns will be sung by Tony Rainwater (Our Father) and Janice Hayek (Amazing Grace).
Ms. Hollier, a resident of St. Martinville, was born February 11, 1932, daughter of the late Salvatore and Francesa Rumore Capritto. She is survived by her son, J.C. Naquin, and his wife, Yolly, of St. Martinville; two daughters, Patty Rainwater and her husband, Tony, of Lafayette, and Suelyn Fremin and her husband, Jay, of St. Martinville; twelve grandchildren, Monique Maturin, Christine Naquin, Luiz and Roxanne Guiterrez, Joseph and John Naquin, Tammy Goodrich Comeaux, and her husband, Skylar, Bobby Goodrich, II, and his wife, Theresa, Isabelle Madina Rainwater, Christian A. T. Rainwater, Tance Fremin, and his wife, Sonja, and Carly Fremin and Jacob Poirier; sixteen great grandchildren, Brock and Johonnah Metzel, Blane Williams, Jordy Viator, Mason Guiterrez, Zane Guiterrez, Alyssa Naquin, Caitlyn and Caroline Comeaux, Carson Goodrich, Gavin, Luke, and Emma Fremin, Trevor and Hannah Poirier and Amber Dalhauser; and one brother, Charles Capritto and his wife, Margaret.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Salvatore and Fancesa Rumore Capritto; her daughter, Jo Ann Naquin Broussard; two brothers, Ross and Michael Capritto; two sisters, Frances Capritto Governale and Rosalie Capritto Milazzo; and her husband, Kliney Hollier.
A native and lifelong resident of St. Martinville, Ms. Hollier was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend to all who knew her. She loved to cook and spend time with her family and friends. She was a very giving person and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Thursday and continue on Friday at 7 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
Pallbearers will be J.C. Naquin, Tony Rainwater, Jay Fremin, Joseph Naquin, John Naquin, Bobby Goodrich, II, and Brock Metzel.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jacob Poirier and Skylar Comeaux.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Chancellor Donald and his entire staff, as well as the entire staff at Maison de Lafayette and Heart of Hospice, for their kindness, compassion, and gentle care given to Ms. Hollier and her family.
