Joshua Powell

New Iberia - Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 16, 2007, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 602 Bayard Street, in New Iberia for Joshua Kent Powell, 22, who died Tuesday, June 12, 2007 in New Iberia. Interment will follow in Beau Pre Cemetery, in Jeanerette. A 2002 graduate of New Iberia Senior High, Joshua enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding four wheelers, being outdoors, and spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his parents, Kent and Kathy Powell of New Iberia; brothers, Justin Powell and wife Guadalupe of New Iberia, Jeff Powell and wife Linda of Manford, Oklahoma, Jared Powell of New Iberia; sister, Julie Comeaux and husband Cory of St. Martinville; nieces and nephews, Ryan Powell, Natalie Leal, Marion Leal, Paolina Perez, Rafael Perez, and Angelle Comeaux. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lamar and Reva Powell, and Grange and May Kidman. A gathering of family and friends will be Friday, June 15, 2007, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. Visitation will continue Saturday, from 8:00 AM until time of service. Pallbearers will be Justin Powell, Jeff Powell, Jared Powell, Cory Comeaux, Rafael Perez, and Flip Payne.
