St. Martinville - Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, January 2, 2008, at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville, for Joyce Margaret Lasseigne, 80, who passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2007, in Opelousas. Entombment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery. Rev. Ed Degeyter will officiate. A native of Caribou, Maine, Mrs. Lasseigne worked at Dupuis Pharmacy, in St. Martinville, for over 20 years. She enjoyed Maine Lobsters and hot dogs, dancing, telling jokes and most of all spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughters, Kathryn Greig and husband Thomas of New Iberia, Carol Broussard and companion Ed Smith of St. Martinville, Renee Tabb and husband David of Opelousas; brother, James Murchison of Presque Isle, Maine; 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ames Joseph Lasseigne; son, Michael McNeal; mother, Helen Murchison; sisters, Mary McNamara, Rena Brennan, Elizabeth Dodge, Louise Mason, Phoebe Klenzendorf; brother, Ivan Murchison.. A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday, from 1:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, in St. Martinville. A rosary will be Tuesday at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue Wednesday from 7:00 AM until time of service. Pallbearers will be Thomas Greig, Jeremy Broussard, Kerry Broussard, Kelly Broussard, Dylan Tabb, and Ian Tabb. Honorary pallbearers include Tyler Evans, Kyle Evans, Trey Broussard, and Matthew Roy. Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville, 394-9121, is in charge of arrangements.
