Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Monday, September 19, 2016, at St. Bernard Catholic Churchs Borel Center in Breaux Bridge for Joyce Theresa Champagne Ross, 91, who passed away on Friday, September 16, 2016, at Opelousas General Hospital. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Sunday, and continue on Monday at 9:00 am until 12:30 pm. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 pm on Sunday. Rev. Austin Leger will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Carmen Ross Durfore and Anita Ross. Gift bearers will be Marlie Tomsu and Jordan Broussard. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 1 in Breaux Bridge. Joyce lived life to the fullest and was very colorful in her expressions. She was a determined woman with a strong will and was fearless. She had great determination when she decided to do something, she did it. She loved telling jokes and making people laugh. Joyce enjoyed camping with the Crawfish Campers and spending time with family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her sons, Richard P. Ross, Bennie C. Ross, Jr., and M. Steve Ross and wife Anita; daughter, Angela M. Broussard and husband Shawn; ten grandchildren; and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Carol Ross; parents, Paul O. and Agnes Fabacher Champagne; and her brother, James P. Champagne. Pallbearers will be Bennie C. Ross Jr., M. Steve Ross, Shawn Broussard, Shallon Broussard, Paul Champagne, and Charles Champagne.
