Joycelyn Marie Decuir

New Iberia - Memorial services will be at 7:00 PM Tuesday, December 4, 2007, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel, in New Iberia for Joycelyn Marie Decuir, 61, who died Saturday, December 1, 2007 in a New Iberia hospital.. A graduate of New Iberia Senior High, Mrs. Decuir worked as a patient representative for Tripler Army Medical Center, in Honolulu, Hawaii; where she was receive the Coin of Excellence Award from General Todd. This award has only been presented to 143 people throughout the years. She enjoyed oil painting, working with stain glass, and most of all taking care of her puppies and grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Howard Decuir, Sr. of New Iberia; sons, Howard "Bubba" Decuir, Jr. and friend Tanya Romero, Howard "Joey" Decuir, III all of New Iberia; daughters, Kathryn Gonzales of New Iberia, Kelley Romero and husband Mark of St. Joseph, LA; sisters, Marsha Linsey, Karen Boudin, Melissa Vice all of New Iberia, Brenda Mallet of Smyrna, TN, Ethel Daher of Riverside, CA; step brother, Terry Beard of Gueydan; grandchildren, Leslie Hebert and fiance Logan Mix, Melanie Gonzales, Nicholas Gonzales, Matthew Gonzales, Cheyenne Gonzales, Mya Romero, Jasmine Decuir, and one due to arrive in May. She was preceded in death by her mother, Doris Kern Beard; father, Marshal King; step father, Clarence Beard. A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia.
