Juanita Maraist Durand

St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 27, 2005, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Juanita Maraist Durand, 89, who died Sunday, December 25, 2005 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette. Entombment will be in St. Michael Mausoleum in St. Martinville. Mrs. Durand was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America at St. Martin de Tours and a member of AARP. ?Mrs. Juanita enjoyed reading and puzzles in her spare time, but most of all was a devoted mother and grandmother. Survivors include her four sons, Gerard F. Durand, Jr., Steven P. Durand, Daniel J. Durand and Louis G. Durand; her daughter, Kathleen Durand and one sister, Margaret (Git) Segura all of St. Martinville; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerard Durand, Sr. and her sister, Annabel Bienvenu. The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 a.m. ~ 9:00 p.m. on Monday and continue at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Monday evening. The pallbearers will be her six grandsons, Christopher and Dane Durand, Corey, Blake and Gregg Durand, and Burt Durand. Pellerin Funeral Homes of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.
