New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 PM Monday, October 25, 2010 at Sacred of Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in New Iberia for Jude Labit, 39 who died Thursday, October 21, 2010 in New Iberia . Entombment will follow in Holy Family Mausoleum. Msgr. Richard Greene will be the Celebrant. Born on September 23, 1971 in New Iberia , Jude worked for Morton Salt. He enjoyed cooking, helping others, and spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed. Survivors include his wife, Heather Buteau Labit of Lafayette; parents, Renice and Anna Gachassin Labit of New Iberia; son, Tyson Labit of New Iberia; daughter, Chloe Faith Labit of Lafayette; step daughter, Claudia Blackwell of Lafayette; grandmother, Odette Labit of Rynella; brothers, Brady Labit of New Iberia, Jade Labit of New Iberia; sister, Dusty Labit Fitch and husband Hoyt of New Iberia; nieces, Hannah and Isabelle Fitch; nephew, Dustin 'DJ' Labit; wifes parents, Rocky and Michelle Buteau of Lafayette. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elus Labit, Adleys Gachassin, and Nola Norris Gachassin. A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd , in New Iberia . A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM Sunday.
