St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Notre Dame Catholic Church to honor the life of Judy H. Bennett, 73, who passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2025.
A visitation will take place at the funeral home in St. Martinville on Saturday from 7:00 am until 12:30 pm.
A Rosary will be prayed at 11:00 am on Saturday.
Father Marvin Gyasie, SVD will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Reader will be LaToya Hypolite. Gift Bearers will be Bralynn Marshall, Skylar Marshall and Dujuanna Hypolite.
Burial will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery.
It is with a heavy heart that we celebrate the life of Judy Bennett, born on July 18, 1951, in St. Martinville, Louisiana. Judy was a cherished member of her community who embraced life with an open heart and an unwavering spirit. She passed away peacefully on January 29, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and an abundance of delicious home-cooked meals.
Judy was a proud 1969 graduate of Adam Carlson High School in St. Martinville, where she grew up surrounded by family and friends. As a devoted wife to her beloved husband, Bobby Bennett, and a dedicated mother to her son, Adolph Marshall, Judy embraced family life wholeheartedly. She earned the title of "Tiger Mom," always advocating for her son with immense love and support in all his endeavors. Her kitchen was her kingdom, where she worked her magic and ensured that no one left her home hungry, especially during the holidays when she was known for calling loved ones to come by for a plate.
Judy's passion for education led her to work as a substitute teacher for the St. Martin Parish School Board. She also made an impact as a Walmart Pharmacy Clerk and worked for the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office in the corrections department. Her compassion and dedication to her work and family were evident in everything she did.
An avid traveler, Judy enjoyed exploring new places, especially cruising and visiting Las Vegas with Bobby. She loved indulging in culinary delights and made it a point to find joy in shopping outings. Her warm spirit matched her devotion to her grandchildren, who were the pride and joy of her life. She cherished each moment spent with them, and her love will forever be etched in their hearts.
As a passionate basketball fan, Judy followed the Golden State Warriors with fervor, celebrating every victory as if it were her own. Her energetic spirit and unwavering enthusiasm for life will never be forgotten.
She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Bobby Bennett; son, Adolph Marshall; step-children, Jeffery Bennett (Monica) and Pamela Bennett; grandchildren, Bralynn Marshall and Skylar Marshall; step-grandchildren, Brett and Crystal; brothers, Shelby Hypolite (Christine), Clarence Hypolite, Jr. and Wilbert Hypolite (Alisha); sisters, Linda Pickney, Juanita Mitchell (Bernard, Jr.), Pearl Jones (Wilton) and Wanda Vital (John); sister-in-law, Quintella Hypolite; aunts, Lorenza Flugence and Julia Mason; and uncle, Willie Hypolite.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Hypolite, Sr. and Juanita Skipper Hypolite; and brother, Carl Hypolite.
Pallbearers will be Clarence Wiltz, Morris Batiste, Nicholas Babin, Damian Hypolite, Kylen Johnson and Keith Theard.
Honorary pallbearers will be Shelby Hypolite, Clarence Hypolite, Jr., Wilbert Hypolite, Kevin Johnson, Bernard Mitchell, III, Caesar Babin, Marcus Hypolite and Jeffery Bennett.
