St. Martinville- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, December, 16, 2024 at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel honoring the life of Judy Tauzin Poirier, 76, who passed away on December 11, 2024 at Ochsner St. Martin Hospital.
A visitation will take place at the funeral home in St. Martinville on Sunday from 2:30 PM to 8:00 PM and will continue on Monday from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM.
A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM on Sunday.
Deacon Adam Conques will officiate at the funeral mass. Readers will be Sumer Poirier and Allene Martin.
Burial will follow at St. Michael Cemetery.
Judy was born February 5, 1948 in Cecilia. She was a devoted wife to her beloved husband, LeRoy, whom she met almost 61 years ago while on a tractor, marking the beginning of a beautiful love story that would last a lifetime. Together, they created a nurturing home for their five children. For 22 years, Judy worked at Fruit of the Loom, where she not only dedicated herself to her craft, but also built lasting friendships. Outside of her professional commitments, she found joy going to the casino and being with the ones that meant the most to her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband, LeRoy Poirier; children, Roy Poirier (Patsy), Keith Poirier (Trilana), Darren Poirier, Rachel Poirier (Todd), and Sandy Martin; grandchildren, Brody Poirier (Heather), Brooke Mitchell (Ron), Bronze Poirier (Madison), Cammie Poirier, Page Castille (Evan), Sumer Poirier (Zack), Harley Taylor, Everly Poirier, Colten Dore' (Seth), Holden Martin (Kamy), and Allene Martin; 11 great grandchildren; and brother, Melvin Tauzin.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Freddie and Gladys Hebert Tauzin.
Pallbearers will be Roy Poirier, Keith Poirier, Darren Poirier, Colten Dore', Bronze Poirier and Holden Martin.
Honorary pallbearer will be Brody Poirier.
In celebrating Judy's life, we remember a woman of strength, grace, and an unwavering love for her family. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all those who knew and loved her.
