Judy was born on October 5, 1951, in Atlanta, Texas to Clyde Henry Stanley and Mamie Louise Martin Stanley and passed away on April 10, 2024.  Judy was a creative, artistic, talented person as well as devoted daughter and sister to a large family.  Judy was an artist in many ways; she was a talented painter, created beautiful floral arrangements, and was a great seamstress.  In fact, she made shirts for country star Willie Nelson who wore them onstage and even on an album cover.

As the owner of a landscape company, she grew many plants which were used in designs she drew. Her love for cooking and gardening led her to growing herbs. She sold them at farmers’ markets as well as using in many different ways of her delicious meals.   At one time she was invited to speak at the National Herb Society in California.

Judy loved family and pets. While she had no children of her own, she became big sister to all of her nieces and nephews. One even gave her the nickname of JuJu.  As a pet lover, she always had dogs and cats which she loved as if they were her children.

Judy is preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Jimmy Clyde Stanley, Thomas Neil Stanley and Charles Edwin Stanley.

She is survived by sisters, Linda “Kitty” LeBlanc (Dale) and Raby “Kookie” Hemperley; nephews, Steve Hemperley (Andrea), Kale LeBlanc (Ashley), and Scott Stanley; nieces, Brenda Stanley, Martha “Marty” Stanley Roberts (Jimmy), Tami Coreno, Terri Rhodes, and Kelly Hemperley Brown (Scott); a host of great nephews and nieces; sisters-in-law, Velma Stanley and Imogene Lester; partner, Greg Kiefer; and devoted pets, Sister and Tuff.

While she is no longer with us, we hold dear her loving heart, beautiful smile, her dimples and all the wonderful memories we have of her.
