Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 15, 2020, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in Cecilia for Jules Antoine Angelle, 65, who passed away on Monday, May 11, 2020 after a brief but brave battle with lung cancer.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 9:00 am until 1:45 pm on Friday.
Rev. Gregory Cormier will officiate at the funeral mass.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Jules was born February 4, 1955 in Arnaudville. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. His children were everything to him - until he became a grandfather. His grandchildren were his entire world, and Jules made certain they knew that. He loved spending quality time and playing with them. Weekend camping trips and long trips to the beach will not be the same without “Poppie.” Jules’ pride and joy was his "old truck." He fully restored his 1952 GMC pickup truck and loved going to car shows and the annual “Cruisin' on the Coast.”
Jules never met a stranger, and there was no one he wasn’t willing to help. His calm character and friendly smile was part of his usual demeanor, and all who knew him will dearly miss his loving, giving nature.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Mona Thibodeaux Angelle; sons, Coby Angelle; Jamie Angelle (Katie) and Kyle Angelle (Naomi); grandchildren, Reese Angelle, Jules Elizabeth Angelle, Hudson Angelle and Quinn Angelle; brother, Glenn Dale Angelle; sisters-in-law, Donna Thomassee (Brud) and Susan Broussard (Terry "Snoopy"); and one brother-in-law, Mike Thibodeaux (Angie).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lennie and Joyce Angelle, and his in-laws, Frank and Jane Thibodeaux.
Pallbearers will be Mike Thibodeaux, Dane Guidry, Devin Broussard, Raven Thibodeaux, Rylan Thibodeaux and Brody Thomassee.
Honorary pallbearers will be Terry “Snoopy” Broussard, Tommy “Moss” Begnaud and Eddie Goulas.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Grace Home Health; his nurse, Lacy Bernard; his physical therapist, Harriet Cloyd; Ladonna Baker with Grace Hospice; Dr. Brierre and his staff; and nurse practitioner, Gabe Robin for the special care given to Jules. A warm thank you also goes out to his employer, the Cecilia Water Company, for their unwavering support during his illness.
