Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3:00 pm, Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia for Julia H. Arnaud, 74, who passed away on January 13, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her loved ones.

A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Cecilia on Wednesday from 9:00 am to 2:45 pm.

A Rosary will be prayed at 11:00 am on Wednesday by Leatrice Meche and Beatrice Zerangue. Readings will be read by Lea M. Duvall. Gift bearers will be Tamara S. Dolan and Angela M. Zeringue.

Father Greg Cormier will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Julia H. Arnaud, a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on January 13th, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Born on July 9th, 1949, Julia lived a life filled with warmth, kindness, and an unwavering love for her family and friends. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A remarkable woman of immense strength and courage, Julia's presence would light up any room she entered. Her selflessness knew no bounds as she constantly put others before herself. Julia was a pillar of support for her loved ones, always lending a helping hand or offering words of wisdom during trying times.

One of Julia's greatest joys in life was being surrounded by her family. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart and her eyes would twinkle with delight whenever they were near. She enjoyed spending time with them and creating precious memories that will be cherished for generations to come.

In addition to being an incredibly loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Julia was also known for her culinary skills. She found great joy in cooking delicious meals for her family. Homemade birthday cakes and fried chicken were among her specialties and she took immense pleasure in preparing them for birthdays. The smile that would grace her face when she saw loved ones enjoying her delectable creations was truly priceless.

Julia had a zest for life that was reflected in her vibrant social nature. She loved visiting friends and family members whenever she could and had an uncanny ability to make everyone feel welcome. Whether it was gathering around a campfire during camping trips or casting a line while fishing, Julia truly treasured these moments spent in the company of loved ones.

Outside of family gatherings and social occasions, another one of Julia's passions was tending to her flowers and parakeets. The sight of colorful blooms brought her great joy and she took immense pride in the beauty she created.

Julia leaves behind a loving family, friends, and a community grateful to have been touched by her presence. Her memory will forever be cherished and the impact she made on countless lives will continue to inspire generations to come. May she rest in eternal peace, knowing that her selflessness, love, and unwavering spirit will be carried in the hearts of all who knew her.

She is survived by the love of her life for 56 years, Aldus Arnaud, Jr.; daughters, Tammy Meche (Errol) and Medora Arnaud (Tamara); sons, Wesley Arnaud (Sheila) and Widley Arnaud (Tonia); adopted daughter Angela M. Zeringue (Scott); grandchildren, Stoney Paul Meche, Jacob Matthew Meche, Tayla Degeyter (Robbie), Kolbie Shea Arnaud (Seth), Kenadie Arnaud (Drevyn), Corky Delahoussaye, Kyle Delahoussaye, Hanna Delahoussaye and Kenneth Delahoussaye; great-grandchildren Ember Romero, Irie Boudreaux, Dax Boudreaux and Ellie Boudreaux; brother, Claude Robin, Jr. (Mable); and sisters, Alice Thibodeaux (Andy) and Mary Jane Taylor (Louis).

She is preceded in death by her father, Widley Hayes; mother, Eula Leblanc Robin; step-father, Claude Robin, Sr.; father/mother-in-law, Aldus and Alcide Noel Arnaud, Sr.; and maternal grandparents, Eucien and Medora Daigle Leblanc.

Pallbearers will be Wesley Arnaud, Widley Arnaud, Errol Meche, Stoney Meche, Jacob Meche, and Pierce Ledet.
